Longtime Oak Creek resident Frank John Salazar died March 8, 2004. He was 73.
Frank was born July 8, 1930, in Rocky Ford to Rosario and Damas Salazar.
The family moved to the Oak Creek area shortly after Frank's birth.
He married Florence June Wilson in September 1962 in Reno, Nev.
Frank spent his life working as a sheepherder for Andy Maneotis. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and his work.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Janie and Mary; a brother, Ray; a son, Michael; and his wife, Florence.
Frank is survived by two daughters, Shelly Salazar of Oak Creek and Sherlyn Montgomery of Yampa; five sisters, Josie Guiterrez, Norma Stine, Virginia Hernandez and Marguerite Gonzales of Denver and Evelyn Palizzi of Brighton; two brothers, Mike and Ben Salazar of Denver; two adopted children, Madeline and Harold Martinez of Oak Creek; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial was held March 13, 2004, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Oak Creek.
