Q. When did you move to Routt County and what brought you here?

A. I moved to Routt County in June 1981 in a snowstorm. My husband and two sons and I moved here to enjoy the beauty of mountain living and to ski.

Q. What's the biggest risk you've taken recently?

A. On a recent trip to Peru, I hiked 10 miles into the jungle to Lost Lake. I am terrified of snakes. (I didn't see any snakes.)

Q. Describe your morning routine.

A. I drink my coffee, watch CNN, and my dog, Zoe, sits on my lap. Occasionally, I do yoga.

Q. Have you ever had a book change your life? What was it and why?

A. I read "Exodus" when I was 14. I remember the impact it had on me. It provided a whole new understanding of human nature and its ugly side.

Q. What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

A. Life is very short; live each day in the present and always let your friends and family know that you love them.

Q. When you meet someone new, what are the first three things you tell them about yourself?

A. I probably tell them about my sons first, how much I love the Yampa Valley and my work.

Q. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A. An anthropologist.

Q. What kind of music did you listen to in high school? What kind of music do you listen to now?

A. Then: Rock 'n' roll. Now: Rock 'n' roll oldies, country and jazz.

Q. If you could invite any four people over for dinner, who would they be and what would you talk about?

A. Abraham Lincoln, The Dali Lhama, my dad and my grandmother. My dad and I love history, so we could have a great discussion with Abraham Lincoln and discuss many philosophical and spiritual questions as well with the Dali Lhama. I miss my grandma very much. We could catch up on family, and I could tell her how much I love her.

Q. In the Meatloaf song, "I'll do anything for love, but I won't do that." What is "that"?

A. Give my friends less time.

A. Moose

Q. What would you want for your last meal?

A. Lobster, good wine and chocolate dessert
