Former Routt County resident Frank "Al" Colley died July 4, 2004, in Colorado Springs. He was 91.
Al was born Sept. 1, 1912, in Hayden. He later moved with his family to Steamboat Springs, where he attended school and began working for the Division of Wildlife as a wildlife conservation officer. Al retired after 36 years of service with the DOW.
He also served in the Conservation Corps and served with the Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
Al returned to work with the DOW in Colorado Springs upon the end of his military service.
In 1935, he married Mary Velma Walker.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Claudine Williams of Castle Rock and Janice Whitman of Colorado Springs; two granddaughters, Ann and Sue Williams of Denver; a grandson, Ryan Williams of Castle Rock; and two great-grandsons, Ian Rudiger and Benjamin Gascon, both of Denver.
Services were held July 8, 2004, at Swan-Law Mortuary in Colorado Springs. Burial followed at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
