Hayden resident Larry D. Suits passed away June 21, 2004, at the University of Colorado Medical Center in Denver. He was 62.
Larry was born Sept. 7, 1941, in Hardin County, Ill., to Moses Orlando and Corrina Bell (Beavers) Suits. He was raised in the Cave-In-Rock area and lived there until the age of 14 or 15 when the family moved to Grants, N.M. Larry graduated from high school in Grants in 1961.
On Aug. 4, 1961, he married his high-school sweetheart, Kittie Sue Power. They lived in Grants until 1972 when they moved back to Illinois and lived there until moving to Hayden in 1979.
Larry worked as a welder and heavy equipment operator in construction for most of his life, including time in the coal mines. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and the National Rifle Association. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and enjoyed shooting his rifle. Larry's main focus in life was his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patricia Rose; a brother, Billy; and his wife, Kittie Sue.
He is survived by a daughter, Wanda and her husband Chad Peppler; a son, Larry Allan and his wife Lorna Suits; and grandchildren Tim, Kim, Thane, Chris, Amber, Jessie and Ashley, all of Hayden; two sisters, Brenda Mitchell of Elizabeth Town, Ill., and Jeannie and her husband Larry Tanner of Eldorado, Ill.; and two brothers, Robert and his wife Loretta Suits of Cave-In-Rock, Ill., and Leon and his wife Vicky Suits of Forsyth, Mont.

Services were held June 26, 2004, at the Hayden Congregational Church with Doug Zirkle presiding. Interment followed at the Hayden Cemetery.
