Fourth of July events


7 a.m. Steamboat Lions Club annual Fourth of July breakfast at the Steamboat Springs Community Center. The all-you-can-eat breakfast is $7 for adults, $4 for people 65 and older and 10 and younger. Until 10 a.m.

7:30 a.m. Pancake breakfast sponsored by South Routt Special Olympics Committee at the Yampa Ladies Aid Hall. The cost is $5 for adults, $4 for children and senior citizens, children 4 and younger eat free. Until 10:30 a.m.

9:30 a.m. 13th annual Steamboat Sprint 400-yard-dash down Lincoln Avenue. Participants meet at Ninth Street and Lincoln Avenue between 9 and 9:15 a.m.

9:30 a.m. "God Bless America," a patriotic and sacred cantata narrated by J.T. Thorup at the United Methodist Church, Eighth and Oak streets.

10 a.m. Steamboat Springs' Cowboys Roundup Days July Fourth parade down Lincoln Avenue.

After parade The Tread of Pioneers Museum and Strings in the Mountains present the Pioneer Day Block Party immediately after the parade at the museum. Call 879-2214.

11 a.m. Strawberry Festival at the United Methodist Church. Until 1 p.m.

1 p.m. Yampa July Fourth parade along Moffat and Main streets in Yampa.

After parade Barbecue beef lunch, homemade pie booth and games at Yampa Elementary School on the old football field.

4 p.m. Western horse polo starts on Moffat Avenue in Yampa. The Calcutta auction and horse race will be after the polo match.

7 p.m. Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo performance at Brent Romick Rodeo Arena.

At dark Yampa fireworks celebration.

9:30 p.m. Steamboat's annual fireworks celebration is downtown, after the rodeo.
