Winter Carnival street event schedule is set

Times are set for the 91st annual Winter Carnival street events. People who register to compete in the events should report to the registration table 15 minutes before the event's listed start time.

Saturday, Feb. 7

9 a.m.: Street slalom, ages 6-10*

9:30 a.m.: 75-yard dash, 9-11

9:40 a.m.: Ski joring, 11-14*

10 a.m.: Three-legged race, 5-8

10:10 a.m.: Three-legged race, 9-11

10:15 a.m.: Ski joring, 6-10*

10:45 a.m.: 50-yard dash, 6-8

10:50 a.m.: Donkey jump, 6-10*

11:20 a.m.: 25-yard dog dash, 0-5

11:25 a.m.: 25-yard dog dash, 0-5

11:30 a.m.: Donkey jump, 11-14*

11:50 a.m.: 150-yard dash, 11-14

Noon: Shovel race, 18 and older*

Sunday, Feb. 8

9 a.m.: Ring and spear, 6-10*

9:30 a.m.: Obstacle course, 5-7

9:40 a.m.: Obstacle course, 8-10

9:50 a.m.: Obstacle course, 11-14

10 a.m.: Street slalom, 11-14*

10:20 a.m.: 25-yard dash, 3-5

10:25 a.m.: Ring and box, 6-10*

11 a.m.: Shovel race, 18 and older*

11:30 a.m. Parade begins

People interested in participating in street events can register beginning today. Minors must have a waiver signed by a parent for all events. Registration is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays or 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays through Feb. 5, at the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association Information Center, 1255 S. Lincoln Ave. Evening registration will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the information center. Call 879-0880, ext. 203.
