Police yet to arrest person who mailed possible drugs
The person who mailed a package containing 86 grams of suspected cocaine to Celebrity Resorts has yet to be arrested.
Steve Sperry, resident agent in charge of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration for Northwest Colorado, said the case was under investigation and that no one else has been arrested.
Jared Evan Cobb, 27, was arrested Jan. 14 after he allegedly received a FedEx package containing 86 grams of suspected cocaine. Cobb is a former employee of the hotel on Hilltop Parkway, which was formerly known as Leisure Resorts.
Sperry said the package was shipped from out of state.
"We got some leads to follow up on, that is about as much as I can comment," Sperry said.
Oak Creek roof started smoldering Wednesday
Boards on the roof of a wood-frame, one-story house started smoldering Wednesday afternoon when the owner of the house tried to use a weed burner to melt ice off the roof.
Oak Creek firefighters were called to the fire before 2 p.m. Crews cooled off the smoldering boards, Oak Creek Fire Chief Chuck Wisecup said.
The owner of the Meyers Street home was melting the ice so the roof could be replaced.
"Where the nail was holding the board on, it generated more heat ... and started smoldering," Wisecup said.
No damage was done and the roof was going to be replaced anyway, Wisecup said.

The woman was not injured and left the car on her own, Nardo said. The car, which had a damaged roof, was pulled from the creek.
No ticket was issued, Nardo said.
