Beginning square dance class offered Fridays at 7

to gather community input

New yoga classes offered at CMC and Bear River

Several new yoga classes are being offered in town. Colorado Mountain College offers a beginning yoga class from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays and 12:15 to 2:15 p.m. Thursdays. The cost is $41. Call 870-4444. Bear River center offers a four-week "Baby and Me" class from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays beginning this week. The cost is $60, and registration is required by calling 870-3046.

Girl Scout cookies

Girl Scout cookies are available for sale, and proceeds benefit the local Girl Scouts. Residents can place orders by contacting any Girl Scout or by calling Shauna at 870-6073. Cookies will be delivered between Feb. 14 and 29.

Humane Society needs volunteers, donations

The Routt County Humane Society is looking for volunteers to help at the Steamboat Springs Animal Shelter. The animal shelter also needs donations of Science Diet or Iams canned cat food. Call 879-RCHS.

Open auditions being held for 'Goldilocks' production

The Emerald City Opera holds open auditions for "Goldilocks and the Three Bears," a touring opera for young audiences, from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 26 at Steamboat Springs High School and from 7 to 8 p.m. Jan. 27 at Craig High School. Call 870-3397.

ice skate donations

The town of Oak Creek is looking for donations of used ice skates of any size to allow more people to try skating at the Oak Creek ice rink. In Steamboat Springs, skates can be dropped off at the Safeway customer service desk. In Oak Creek, skates can be dropped off at Town Hall. Call 736-8563.

Registration under way

for Kaleidoscope programs

Registration is under way for the Kaleidoscope Art Exploration for Kids after-school art workshop, to be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at the Depot Art Center. The program is open to children ages 6 to 12. Students will write their own poetry and illustrate and bind a book on handmade paper. Free Friday Film series starts again this week

The free Friday Film Series will start again for the winter this Friday. Films are shown at 7 p.m. every other Friday through March 19 at Centennial Hall. The films are free, seating is limited and donations are encouraged. Call the Steamboat Springs Arts Council at 879-9008.
