Lindsay Lockhart
studies in San Diego

Lindsay E. Lockhart of Steamboat Springs took part in Dartmouth College's exchange program this winter when she studied in San Diego.

Lockhart, the daughter of Tyrone and Elizabeth Lockhart, took part in the program designed to expand the college's curriculum into new areas of academic and cultural understanding. Dartmouth is in New Hampshire.

Kelly Jordan named teen of the month

Christian Heritage School senior Kelly Jordan was named the Steamboat Optimist Club's December teen of the month.

Kelly was class vice president for three years, has served as the school's student council director of activities, been named to the high honor roll 16 times and danced for four years in Steamboat Springs High School's Dance Showcase. This year, Kelly choreographed two pieces for the Dance Showcase.

She sings in the Women's Small Ensemble, has been a three-year varsity cheerleader, two of which she earned first place in the Western Colorado Cheerleading Regionals, and a command performance in the ACSI Musicale Festival in 2003, was a two-year member of the Academic All-State First Team, played junior varsity soccer and was named to the NCA "TopTeam" in 2003.

Kelly plans to go on a foreign language trip to Spain this spring, followed by a literature trip to England and Ireland. In service to the community, Kelly has been a children's mentor, volunteered with Operation Christmas Child, done highway cleanup, is a Sunday School youth leader, participated in Low Country Missions and was the children's choreographer at the Koinonia Children's Performing Arts Camp.

She plans to attend Wheaton College, Gordon College or Roanoke College, earn a degree and travel the world. She would like to double major in English and art history.
