Bessie Lighthizer (1913-2004)

Former Hayden resident Bessie Lighthizer passed away peacefully Dec. 22, 2003, at her home in Mesa, Ariz. She was 90.
Bessie was born Feb. 3, 1913, in Escalante, Utah.
Bessie and her late husband, Leonard, raised race horses outside of Hayden. Bessie lived in Mesa, Ariz., for the past 10 years with her daughter and son-in-law.
She was cheerful and a friend to everyone. She never spoke an unkind word. Bessie will be missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; a daughter, Kay Eblen; and three brothers, Clifford, Que and Curlin Gledhill.
Bessie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Richard Melgosa of Mesa; a sister, Nedra Tucker of Morgan, Utah; a brother, Woodrow Gledhill of Loveland; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
