Free Friday Film Series starts again Jan. 23
The Free Friday Film Series will start again for the winter Jan. 23. Films are shown at 7 p.m. every other Friday through March 19 at Centennial Hall. The films are free, seating is limited, donations are encouraged. Call the Steamboat Springs Arts Council at 879-9008.
Diamond Hitch Parade entry forms available
Entry forms for the 91st Winter Carnival Diamond Hitch Parade on Feb. 8 are available at the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club at Howelsen Hill Lodge. The entry deadline is Feb. 2. Call Katy at 879-0695, ext. 116.
Library holding program for babies, parents
Bud Werner Memorial Library welcomes parents and babies 20 months and younger to "Babytime," a new program starting Jan. 31.
Babytime helps teach babies language through rhymes, Mother Goose and simple books. This drop-in program is free and no registration is required. Babytime for pre-walkers is from 10 to 10:30 a.m.; Babytime for walkers runs from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Saturdays. Call 879-0240.

Rotary Club collecting donations for Stillwell
The Steamboat Springs Rotary Club has established a fund to help Chris Stillwell at Community First National Bank. Stillwell, a Steamboat resident and Rotary Club member, is at the Denver Health Medical Center intensive care unit after suffering a closed-head injury. Donations can be made to the Chris Stillwell Fund, either in person at the bank or through the mail at Chris Stillwell Fund, P.O. Box 772948, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477.
Steamboat Dance Theatre granting scholarships
Steamboat Dance Theatre is soliciting applications for its dance scholarship program. Scholarships ranging from $25 to $300, depending on funding availability, are offered to students with any dance teacher on a confidential financial need basis. Applications accepted from any instructor; students should speak to their instructor if interested. Spring applications should be received by Jan.16, though funds may be available on an ongoing basis.
Advocates hosting annual Colorado Ski for Women
Advocates Against Battering and Abuse hosts the third annual Colorado Ski for Women at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 25 at the Steamboat Ski Touring Center. Registration is from 9 a.m. to noon. Call 879-2034. Silly costumes encouraged.
