Pilot & Today selects Editorial Board members

The Steamboat Pilot & Today has selected Dianna Sutton and Keith Skytta as community representatives on its Editorial Board.

Sutton, president and CEO of Yampa Valley Community Foundation, and Skytta, property manager for Snow Flower Condominiums, will serve four-month terms that expire in May. They replace Paula Cooper Black and Jennifer Schubert-Akin, who served from September through December.

The Steamboat Pilot & Today Editorial Board includes two community representatives and four members of the newspaper staff. Newspaper staff members on the board include publisher Suzanne Schlicht, editor Scott Stanford, city editor Melissa Roddy and reporter Tom Ross. The Editorial Board formulates the Our View opinions expressed on the ViewPoints page.

Belly dance class offered

at Center for Movement Arts

A six-week intermediate belly dance class is from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. beginning Monday at The Center for Movement Arts, 1104 Lincoln Ave. The cost is $48. Call 846-2735.

Fund established to help resident Chris Stillwell

The Steamboat Springs Rotary Club has established a fund to help Chris Stillwell at Community First National Bank. Stillwell, a Steamboat resident and Rotary Club member, is at the Denver Health Medical Center intensive care unit after suffering a head injury. Donations can be made to the Chris Stillwell Fund, either in person at the bank or through the mail at Chris Stillwell Fund, P.O. Box 772948, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477.

Author Beer will teach two creative writing courses

Edith Lynn Beer, author of five books and more than 200 published articles, will teach two creative writing courses, "Writing a Book that Sells" and "Writing an Article that Sells," at Colorado Mountain College.

"Writing An Article That Sells" is a course for those interested in writing for the Internet as well as for print. The class meets at 6 p.m. Thursdays beginning Jan. 22.

"Writing A Book That Sells" interprets the three aspects of writing a successful book. One is the actual writing of the book, the second is finding a publisher for the book and the third is the platform for the book. The class will meet at 6 p.m. Mondays beginning Jan. 19.
