Was district thinking?
I'm just wondering if there are any other school districts in the state that scheduled classes on the two days before Christmas. What percentage of students were absent during this time. Who determines the calendar? Was there parent input? The Pilot & Today should do an article on this mess.
Hire more workers
No way. I will not arrive at Yampa Valley Regional Airport 2 1/2 hours before my flight. They need to hire more screeners.
Need coverage everyone
The Denver Nuggets are the surprise team in the NBA, but you wouldn't know it by reading Steamboat Today. There is plenty of Broncos and Avs coverage, but what about the Nuggets? How about a little fair treatment?
What improvements?
It is a wonder that anyone who ever flies into our airport ever comes back. I was out there last weekend to pick up my parents, and it was a zoo. Nobody seems to know when flights are coming and going. The parking situation is just awful. Whatever they supposedly did to fix the airport, it is far from fixed. Those people who don't think we need to invest in the airport haven't been to the airport lately.
Already good schools
Ultimately, what I can't understand is why the Montessori charter school supporters use the premise that people want an alternative to the public school system. Our schools continue to receive high marks in the Colorado school system. Why would they want an alternative to a good education?
