Kristi Palmer and Kelly Rhodes: Apologies to Soroco

The student body, faculty and support staff of Rangely High School, as well as the community, would like to offer our sincerest apology to the students and community of Soroco High School for the incident that occurred during the Soroco Rams' visit to our school Jan. 30. We are embarrassed for the breach of trust that came about as the result of thieves breaking into your team's locker room and taking money and items of value. We have always prided ourselves on our ability to ensure visiting teams complete safety while on our grounds, so this incident came as a great shock and shame to us.
We would, however, like to inform you that the individuals who stole your property have been caught, and charges are being brought against them. The lost items are being returned, and we genuinely hope they are not damaged in any way. Please accept that Rangely High School is doing all in its power to ensure that the perpetrators receive the punishment they deserve.
Your understanding of how a few individuals can mar the reputation of many is probably much like ours: a social reality that shows up from time to time. Nonetheless, it is very important to the RHS Student Council and community for you to accept our heartfelt apology and understand that we are investigating ways to prevent anything like this from happening again.

and Kelly Rhodes
Co-presidents, RHS Student Body
