Horses, Duncan doing well after chariot accident
Two teams of horses involved in an accident Saturday during the chariot races are doing fine, a representative from the Yampa Valley Cutter and Chariot Association said.
Kathy Duncan suffered bruises and general soreness after tumbling out of a chariot she was driving during Saturday's chariot races. Duncan, who was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center, is recovering from scrapes and bruises.
The teams of horses raced on Sunday, winning both of their races.
Valentine's Day dance for middle schoolers Friday
A Valentine's Dance for middle school students is from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at the old Emerald City on 11th Street between Lincoln Avenue and Yampa Street. Admission is $2 at the door. A live DJ will provide music. Call Teen Programs at 879-6960.
Winter Sports Club jump league today at 5 p.m.
The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club recreational jump league is at 5:30 p.m. today at Howelsen Hill. Jumpers are needed.
No experience is necessary. Skiers can jump the 20-, 30-, and 50-meter jumps using Alpine or telemark gear. There is a $12 training fee plus a $5 lift ticket fee. Call 879-0695, ext.112.
National Art Honor Society holding art show
The National Art Honor Society from Steamboat Springs High School is sponsoring an art show for any Steamboat Springs High School student who wants to participate. The show will run from Wednesday through Feb. 20. The show and opening reception are from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Steamboat Springs High School library.
