Leonard Allen Blake: 1958-2004


Former Routt County resident Leonard Allen Blake died Jan. 10, 2004, in Denver from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was 45.

Len was born Feb. 20, 1958, in Denver to Leonard O. and Isabelle F. Blake.

He grew up in the Yampa area, where he learned to hunt and fish. He attended school in the South Routt School District system and graduated in 1976.

Len had a distinguished athletic career, including being a three-time state champion wrestler.

He spent 27 years working for the railroad.

Len was preceded in death by his mother, Isabelle.

He is survived by his four children, Juleen Villalovas of Casper, Wyo., Brian Blake, Jason Blake and Tiffany Blake of Steamboat Springs; four grandchildren, Derek and Davin Blake of Steamboat and Adaleen and Jayleen Villalovas of Casper, Wyo.; his father, Leonard Blake of Yampa; and his brother, David Blake of Denver; along with numerous friends and relatives.
