'Fowl Play' exhibit

Artist JoAnn Baker Paul will be exhibiting a new series of photographs titled "Fowl Play" at the Sleeping Giant Gallery through February. There will be an artist reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the gallery, 624 Lincoln Ave., between The Red Horse and The Overland in the courtyard. Call 879-7143.

Pediatric first aid course offered monthly at CMC

A Pediatric Medic First Aid course for parents and others working with children is offered monthly through Colorado Mountain College. The course covers accident prevention, first aid and CPR certification. The cost is $20.50. Call Paul Yonekawa at 879-4530.

Volunteers needed to help with Winter Carnival

Volunteers are needed to help with street events during the 91st annual Winter Carnival to be held Saturday and Sunday. Volunteers are needed both days from about 8 a.m. to noon. To volunteer, call Leslie Dietz at 879-0882, ext. 203.

'The View from Here' exhibit, sale is Feb. 13

The Steamboat Springs Arts Council and the Steamboat Artists Group will host an opening reception for "The View from Here," an exhibit and sale of paintings by the Steamboat Artists Group from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Depot Art Center. A gallery talk by the artists is from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Depot. Call 870-9008.
