A 33-year-old Steamboat Springs man was arrested Sunday morning after running down Stone Lane with a gun.
John Michael Gould, who lives in the 3400 block of Stone Lane, was having an argument with his roommate when he ran out of his house and to a neighbor's house with a gun in hand, said Steamboat Springs Assistant Police Chief Art Fiebing.
A neighbor saw Gould running down the street about 8 a.m. Sunday and called the police. After police confronted Gould, the man took the officers back to his house where police found drug paraphernalia, Fiebing said.
Gould was arrested on suspicion of prohibited use of a weapon, possession of a schedule II substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, third-degree assault and criminal mischief.
Gould told police he got into a physical fight that morning with his roommate, Bobby Gene Bussell III, 25. Gould ran to a neighbor's house, hid in the garage and waited for Bussell to leave before returning home, Fiebing said.
Bussell then came back to the house, broke the door jam and found Gould in his bedroom with a .45-caliber handgun, according to the police report.
Gould told police he had taken the clip out of the gun.
When Gould took police back to his house, police found cocaine residue in a smoking device, a crack pipe, bongs, and smoking devices for crystal meth. Police think Gould had been using drugs and alcohol before the incident, Fiebing said.
Gould was released from jail Sunday afternoon on $5,000 bond.
