Silver Spur home
A house in Silver Spur was reportedly was burglarized Monday afternoon, with several items taken.
The front door of the home in the 40800 block of Purple Sage Trail had been pried open, and items were noticed missing inside, Routt County Sheriff's Lieutenant Richard Wood said. The sheriff's department was notified of the burglary after a neighbor noticed the front door was open.
The sheriff's deputies went to the home to investigate and contacted the owners, who reported several items missing.
Wood would not comment about what items were taken from the home and how much they were worth. He said the Sheriff's Office collected evidence from the scene, and an investigation will continue.
Pilot & Today seeking
representatives for board
The Steamboat Pilot & Today is accepting letters of interest from community representatives interested in serving on the newspaper's Editorial Board. The community representatives would serve a four-month term beginning Jan. 1.
The Editorial Board includes two community representatives and four members of the newspaper staff. Newspaper staff members on the board include publisher Suzanne Schlicht, editor Scott Stanford, city editor Melissa Roddy and reporter Tom Ross. The Editorial Board formulates the Our View opinions expressed on the ViewPoints page of the newspaper.
Readers interested in serving on the Editorial Board should send a letter of 500 words or less expressing their interest in the board to Stanford at email@example.com or at P.O. Box 774827; Steamboat Springs, CO 80477. Letters also may be dropped off at the Pilot & Today office at 1901 Curve Plaza. Nominations are due Dec. 24.

Steamboat Community Players to hold auditions
The Steamboat Community Players is back after a hiatus. They will be holding auditions for the annual "Evening of One Acts." Auditions will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 11 and from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Depot Art Center, 1001 13th St.
The "Evening of One Acts" will cast a variety of directors and actors, including six adult men, seven adult women and two teenage women. The theater group also will need several stagehands for backstage, setup and breakdown. First-time actors, directors and stagehands are welcome. Call 879-3254.
Food for Fines library
program held this month
Children with overdue fines at Bud Werner Memorial Library can "pay" off their fines during December while helping needy families by participating in the library's Food for Fines program. For every item of nonperishable food children bring in to the library, the library will cancel about $1 of overdue fines. All food will be donated to the LIFT-UP Food Bank. The program is for children 18 and younger only.

'Jolly Holidays' show
to be held Dec. 16 to18
The Oak Street Performing Arts Company presents "Jolly Holidays" at 7 p.m. Dec. 16, 17 and 18 at the Steamboat Springs High School auditorium. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children and seniors. Children and seniors' tickets are half-price for the Thursday performance. Call 871-1880.
