Sen. Allard aide to collect input at Centennial Hall
A staffer for U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard will hold senate office hours from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. today in Centennial Hall's Crawford Room, 124 10th St. The office hours are an opportunity for residents to voice opinions, complaints, questions or any other issues they might have for Sen. Allard.
"I want to extend an invitation to anyone in Routt County who is experiencing a problem with the federal government or would like to pass along an opinion on a current issue before the U.S. Senate, to stop by and visit with Linde (today)," Allard said in a statement.
Appointments aren't needed to meet with Linde Marshall, an Allard aide based out of Grand Junction.
Hayden Heritage Center has display on horses
The Hayden Heritage Center Museum is encouraging Routt County Fair visitors and participants to view the display "History of the American Quarter Horse in Northwest Colorado" from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Sunday at the museum.
Funding available for
The Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Project has funds available through the end of the year to help pay for mammograms or breast cancer treatment for women who cannot afford such services. Call 879-1632.
Plant posse's volunteer day scheduled for Sept. 14
A volunteer day for the Routt Invasive Plant Posse is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 14. The collaborative effort among Routt County, the city of Steamboat Springs, the Colorado Division of Wildlife, Colorado State Parks, The Nature Conservancy and the U.S. Forest Service will survey early invasions of noxious weeds along the Yampa River and its tributaries. Plants being surveyed include tamarisk, Russian olive, meadow knapweed and purple loosestrife. Assistance is needed to help stop these species from taking root along the river.
