PGA tournament coverage shows Yampa Valley
When CBS television rolls out coverage of The International PGA tournament from Castle Pines Country Club this weekend, area golf fans shouldn't be surprised if they recognize the video the network uses to promote the Rocky Mountains. The golf course is more than 150 miles away, but the fishing, mountain biking and golf footage should look familiar because they were taken in the Yampa Valley by Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp. videographer Tom Baer.
CBS sports producers contacted Steamboat Public Relations Director Mike Lane this week looking for what is called "B roll," in the industry. A significant part of Baer's job with the Ski Corp. marketing department involves packaging standard video of the scenery and activities enjoyed in and around Steamboat.
