Commissioners thank public safety specialists
Routt County commissioners honored public safety communication specialists this week through a resolution proclaiming April 11 through 17 the Routt County Public Safety Telecommunications Week.
Several communication specialists were present Monday to hear the commissioners' thanks for their work.
"What these individuals do is not something that anyone off the street can go in and do," Routt County Commissioner Nancy Stahoviak said. "It takes someone very, very special to do what they do."
Routt County commissioners Doug Monger and Dan Ellison echoed those compliments and the importance of the communication specialists' work.
Routt County Telecommunications employs 15 communication specialists who work around the clock to serve the public and other public service organizations, such as Steamboat Mental Health and the U.S. Forest Service.
