Steamboat Springs resident Christopher "Kit" Adams died April 4, 2004. He was 48.
Kit was born March 10, 1956, in Arlington, Mass., to Mac and Jane Adams. He grew up in Winchester, Mass., and graduated from high school in 1974.
Kit went to the University of Vermont in Burlington, where he earned a bachelor's degree.
He moved to Steamboat in 1979 and worked as a ski instructor and for the 20/20 Company that specialized in video photography and ski vacation movies. He also worked construction during the off-season.
Kit loved the outdoors, particularly skiing, hang gliding and everything else Steamboat has to offer. He also enjoyed music; he was a drummer in the Stan Zan Band.
Kit was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father and a brother-in-law, Craig Kolloff.
He is survived by his mother, Jane Adams Ahearn of Hopkinton, Mass.; two sisters, Kyle Meahl and her husband, Douglas, of Stoneham, Mass., and Kimberly Kolloff and her husband, Craig, of Boston; three nephews; a niece and many close friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. April 13, 2004, at Olympian Hall in Steamboat. All are invited to attend a potluck dinner after the service. Call the Yampa Valley Funeral Home at 879-1494.
