The Steamboat Springs boys lacrosse team defeated Santa Fe Prep, 12-7, on Friday in Fountain Valley.
"The kids played really well," coach Bob Hiester said. "We got soft on defense and gave up a few goals at the end, but it was probably the best lacrosse we've played all season."
Leo Chea was in net for the Sailors and made nine saves in the win.
Danny Carlson and Henry Howard scored four goals each, while Andrew Zopf, Andy Flax, Dustin Burke and Harry Packer each picked up one goal, as well.
Steamboat is scheduled to play Grandview at 1 p.m. today in Denver, but the weather will determine if that game goes on as planned. The Sailors will play their first home game of the season May 5 against Englewood.
