The Village at Steamboat robbed of about $1,000
More than a $1,000 was reported stolen from a safe Tuesday.
Steamboat Springs Assistant Police Chief Art Fiebing said the manager of The Village at Steamboat, in the 2400 block of Pine Grove Circle, said the safe was robbed of $1,151.41. Everything in the safe, except for loose change and a moneybag, was taken.
The safe was in the front desk area. The manager checked the safe, which held the company's petty cash, every night and morning and noticed the money was missing Tuesday morning, Fiebing said.
The incident is under investigation, Fiebing said, and no suspects have been identified. Many people have keys to the safe, Fiebing said.
