Backpack, $200 reported stolen from store Tuesday
A backpack and $200 were reported stolen from a Yampa Avenue sporting goods store Tuesday night.
Steamboat Springs police Sgt. Nick Bosick said two cash registers were broken into and $100 was taken from each at Backdoor Sports. A Plexiglas window in the back of the building, facing the Yampa River, was broken.
Police suspect the break-in occurred between 6 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. Wednesday. Bosick said police have no suspects and are investigating the incident.
Only one piece of merchandise was missing, a new backpack.
The coins were left in the register, Bosick said.
