Friday, Sept. 12

9:58 a.m. A pickup truck's bumper was the victim of a hit-and-run in the City Market parking lot.There are no leads.

10:21 a.m. Harassment was reported when a customer of Lincoln Avenue Printers began yelling at an employee in front of customers. The issue was resolved without any legal action.

11:52 a.m. A 70-year-old man walked into City Market, filled several shopping bags with groceries and walked out without paying. City Market employees suspected him of shoplifting there before, had someone watch him and called the police. The man encountered police outside, and the man said he was going to get his wallet. Police found his wallet on him and arrested him on suspicion of shoplifting.

10:26 p.m. A woman called police saying a young girl was being held against her will by a juvenile boy. Police found that the two were a couple breaking up, and no charges were filed.

11:13 p.m. Police found four backpacks in the parking lot behind Off the Beaten Path Bookstore. The backpacks belonged to Steamboat Springs High School students, and one of the backpacks had a marijuana pipe inside. The packs were taken into police inventory.

11:25 p.m. Two bicyclists' handlebars hit head on, causing one of the bicycles to flip backward in the 2400 block of Alpenglow Way. The rider who flipped was injured and transported to the hospital.
