Verizon cell phone service back up and running

Verizon cell phone users experienced a temporary reduction of service Sunday, but all service is now running.

A problem in the connection between the cell site and switch was reported and fixed Sunday, said Georgia Taylor, public relations manager for Verizon Wireless.

All users could make outgoing calls on their phones, Taylor said. "People could dial out fine, it was just a portion of calls that could not be received," she said.

The service reduction affected downtown Denver, Grand Junction, Cortez and Farmington and the northwest corner of the state, Taylor said.
