CMC offers free class to prepare for GED exam

Steamboat Youth Hockey spots quickly filling
Only a few spots are left in Steamboat Youth Hockey's Midget Legacy Golf Tournament. The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Monday at Catamount Golf Club. Cost is $100 per player, with a barbecue to follow on the clubhouse deck. Proceeds will provide a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior hockey player. Call 871-0063.
'The Language of Film' registration under way
Registration is under way for "The Language of Film," a 10-week course on film appreciation taught by producer Dori Weiss and director Chris Nyby. Each session will focus on a different aspect of filmmaking. Sessions will take place from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 17-Nov. 19. Soup Bowl Supper tickets on sale for Sept. 9 meal
Tickets are on sale now for the second annual Steamboat Clay Artisans' Soup Bowl Supper, a major fund-raiser for LIFT-UP of Routt County. The event is Sept. 9 at the Depot Arts Center. The event features locally created ceramic bowls that will be filled with gourmet soup provided by several local restaurants. There will be three seatings, at 5, 6:15 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $17 and include soup, bread, dessert, beverage, the ceramic soup bowl to take home and a chance at other ceramic creations in a door prize drawing. A silent auction will also be available for larger ceramic pieces. Advance tickets only are available at the Lift-Up Thrift Store, the Arts Depot, The Buzz, and Potter's Wheel. Call 870-0727.

Columbine Youth Chorale seeks young singers
Columbine Youth Chorale is seeking talented young singers. The children's choir is open to all interested youths ages 8-14; no experience is necessary.
