Paul Innes completes Idaho adventure course
Steamboat Springs resident Paul Innes recently completed a 14-day summer adventure course in Idaho with the National Outdoor Leadership School. The course, which is designed for 14- and 15-year-olds, explored the Lemhi Range in eastern Idaho. Students learned skills such as backpacking, fly fishing, rock climbing and camping, as well as how to express their feelings openly, how to get along with a group and how to be a leader.
Tyler Hamlet graduated from Brooks Institute
Tyler Jensen Hamlet, a former Lowell Whiteman School graduate, recently graduated from the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, Calif., with a bachelor's degree in motion picture arts. Hamlet was named to the dean's list three times and also was named to the president's list. Hamlet is a former competitor of combined freestyle skiing with the Winter Sports Club. His interests include kayaking, scuba diving and sailing.
Candidates' forum
will be 7 p.m. Tuesday
A candidates' forum for Steamboat Springs School Board hopefuls is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at Steamboat Springs High School. The forum is being organized by the parent information committees at each district school. The forum will include a structured question-and-answer period followed by questions from those in attendance. Each candidate also will have a table set up where they can distribute literature and answer questions on a more personal basis.
