Samantha Brown, host of "Great Vacation Homes" on the Travel Channel, said the barn at Fox Meadow Farm is nicer than most homes.
The TV network aired a feature segment on this equestrian-based, 35-acre home about four years ago.
The South Valley property off Colorado Highway 131 is owned by Bob and Kathy Cline of Boca Raton, Fla. The couple visits Steamboat Springs every summer, bringing their daughters and horses to play on their property.
Fox Meadow Farm was listed on the market for the first time 11 days ago by Steamboat Real Estate Inc. for $3.2 million.
The Clines are moving because they want to downsize, Kathy Cline said. Their oldest daughter will be going to college soon, and the property is just too much for the soon-retiring couple to handle.
"We're there three months in the summer, so the other nine months, it goes to waste," she said. They already have moved into a smaller home in Florida and want to do the same in Steamboat.
Like Brown said on her show, the house is the focal point of this property.
The property features a 6,200-square-foot house, 3,200-square-foot barn and a full-size riding arena with multiple horse jumps. The barn features seven horse stalls, a wash bay, a feed room, a tack room, hay storage on the second level, a living space for the caretaker and a second garage.
The 35.41 acres are divided into four pastures, making it the perfect setting for horses and equestrian training, said Kim Folkestad of Steamboat Real Estate. The land also has a small pond.
The back yard has a garden and a large patio with a pool and built-in hot tub. "It's the Florida influence coming though," Brown said.
The couple said they wanted to steer away from using any stucco or tiles because of the popularity of those materials in Florida. So the outer appearance of the house is composed of wood siding and stone veneer.
The inside of the house mirrors some of the exterior features with wood and stone. It has five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. There are stone, gas-log fireplaces in the living room, family room and master bedroom.
The living room is large, with a vaulted ceiling and huge window facing Mount Werner.
The kitchen is average-sized, but unique with hand-painted tiles on the walls.
The house is supplied by its own well water, which powers its sprinkler system.
