Lowell Whiteman
cites honors list
Lowell Whiteman Primary School has announced its honors list for first trimester.
Students in grades six through eight with grades of 85 percent or above in all classes are named to the honor roll. Students with grades of 90 percent or above in all classes earn high honors.
High honors -- Christopher Finch, Brady Findell, Lauren Ladley, Lauren Ventrudo, Ben Von Thaden.
Honor roll -- Jennings Anderson, Willow Fitzgerald, Matt Ladley, Shelby Reed, Mary Rose.
Kaleidoscope workshop accepting registration
Children can register for the Holiday Break Kaleidoscope Art Exploration for Kids art workshop.
The workshop is for children ages 6 to 12 and is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 29 and Dec. 30, at the Depot Art Center. Students will work with fiber arts, including batik, weaving and paper making.
The cost is $100 for Steamboat Springs Arts Council members and $125 for nonmembers. Call the Arts Council at 879-9008.
Volunteers needed to serve on focus group
Parks and Recreation youth programs are looking for people to serve in a youth programs focus group. The group will gather viewpoints and ideas to enhance the quality of programs. Participants will meet twice before the end of the school year to discuss program content, registration and concerns. Call Jennifer at 879-4300, ext. 352.
Leadership class seeks suitable Santa Claus
The Steamboat Springs High School Leadership Class is looking for a suitable Santa Claus (costume will be provided) to take pictures with children from noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 13. Those interested should e-mail sshsleadership@hotmail.com or call Lucianne Myhre at 879-1562.
