Stretching lessons offered Mondays, Thursdays
Stretching lessons, a blend of yoga, martial arts movements and stretches, are being offered from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Mondays and 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Thursdays at the Center for Movement Arts, 1104 Lincoln Ave. Cost is $10 each class or $48 for a six-punch card. Call 879-0131.
Christmas in the Rockies scheduled for Dec. 6
The annual Christmas in the Rockies holiday artisans market is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 6 at Strawberry Park Elementary School.
The craft fair features original arts and crafts, cheesecakes and pictures with Santa. Call the Steamboat Springs Arts Council at 879-9008 for more information.
Food drive continues through this weekend
The Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. and LIFT-UP of Routt County are conducting a food drive through the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Donations can be dropped off at several locations at the Steamboat Ski Area, including the main ticket office and information center. The drive began Wednesday and will continue through Sunday.
Salvation Army looking for volunteer bell-ringers
Bell-ringers are needed for the Salvation Army's annual Christmas Kettle Campaign. The campaign began Thursday and continues to Dec. 24. One- or two-hour shifts are available at selected sites Thursday and Friday evenings, weekends and every day during the week of Christmas. Money goes to meet emergency needs of Routt County families. Library offers Food for Fines program to children
During December, children with overdue fines at Bud Werner Memorial Library can "pay" their fines while helping families in need by participating in the library's Food for Fines Program. For every item of non-perishable food children bring in to the library, the library will cancel about $1 of their overdue fines. All food will be donated to LIFT-UP Food Bank. The program is only open to ages 18 and younger.
Registration under way
for children's art program
Children can register now for the Holiday Break Kaleidoscope Art Exploration for Kids art workshop.
The workshop is for children ages 6 to 12 and is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 29 and 30, at the Depot Art Center. Students will work with fiber arts, including batik, weaving and paper making.
The cost is $100 for Steamboat Springs Arts Council members and $125 for nonmembers. Call the Arts Council at 879-9008.
