Annual Kiwanis ornament goes on sale this week
The 21st annual Steamboat Kiwanis holiday ornament will feature a Routt County ranch scene by photographer Chris Selby.
The ornament represents the major annual fund-raiser for the Kiwanis. The service organization uses the proceeds to help fund projects benefiting senior citizens and area youth. The Kiwanis' good works include an annual seniors dinner, an annual boat ride on Steamboat Lake and weekly bus trips to grocery stores and the post office. Kiwanis also contributes to Cub Scouts and Partners in Routt County and host the annual "Stars of Tomorrow" competition.
Collectors can get a jump on purchasing the ornaments this week at the Steamboat Springs chamber Resort Association office on U.S.Highway 40, from individual Kiwanians or at Mr. Money.
Beginning Monday, the ornaments will be on sale at all local banks. They can be purchased from 5 to 7 p.m. Fridays at City Market and Safeway, from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday at City Market, and all day on weekends.
LIFT-UP sites will be closed on Thursday, Friday
