n Yampatika's Wee Naturalist program for children ages 3 to 5 meets from 9 to 11 a.m. at Yampatika, 925 Weiss Drive. The cost is $10 for members and $12 for nonmembers. Price includes snack and juice. Call 871-9151.

n Yampa story-hour is at 10:30 a.m. at Yampa Public Library.

n Story-times for preschoolers ages 3 to 5 are at 10 and 11 a.m. at Bud Werner Memorial Library.

n Free meditation for peace and illumination is at 7 p.m. at the Bear River Center. This is a free, guided meditation.

n The city of Steamboat Springs hosts adult open-gym basketball from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Steamboat Springs High School gymnasium. Cost is $3.

THURSDAY

n Routt County United Way and Vectra Bank sponsor a free community Thanksgiving dinner from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Steamboat Springs Community Center.

n A community Thanksgiving dinner will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Oak Creek Community Center. Volunteers are needed to cook, bring a dish, set up and serve. Call 735-8138 or 871-0921.

n The Ski Town Holiday Arts and Crafts show is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Hampton Inn and Suites, 725 S. Lincoln Ave.

n The third annual Lighting of the Spencer Christmas Tree is at 7 p.m. Saturday at the corner of Fourth Street and Jefferson Avenue in Hayden. The event will include the lighting of the tree, carols, refreshments and a visit from Santa. It's sponsored by the town of Hayden.

n A Water Focus Group Meeting is at 8 a.m. Monday in Centennial Hall, rooms 113 and 114.

n Newborn Network will host a newborn and mom get-together from 11 a.m. to noon at Discovery Learning Center. A group for children ages 1 to 3 will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Call 870-0977.

n Routt County Republicans will meet at noon Dec. 3 in the commissioners meeting room of Routt County Courthouse. Call 870-2891.

n The Over-The-Hill Gang will hold its December dinner Dec. 3 at Catamount Ranch and Club. Cocktails are at 6 p.m., and dinner is at 7 p.m. Cost is $20 per person. Reservations must be made by calling 871-9300.

n The 26th Annual Community Holiday Party is from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 4 at Howelsen Hill. The party includes tubing on Howelsen Hill, a Nativity scene, caroling, juggling elves and a visit from Santa Claus. Refreshments will be served. A limited number of tubes will be available for use.

n The eighth annual Ski Town USA Hockey Tournament is Dec. 4 to 7 at Howelsen Ice Arena. Call 871-0063 for a game schedule.

n The annual Christmas in the Rockies holiday artisans market is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 6 at Strawberry Park Elementary School. The craft fair features original arts and crafts, cheesecakes and pictures with Santa. Call the Steamboat Springs Arts Council at 879-9008.
