Salvation Army looking for volunteer bell-ringers

Bell-ringers are needed for the Salvation Army's annual Christmas Kettle Campaign. The campaign runs from Nov. 28 to Dec. 24. One- or two-hour shifts are available at selected sites Thursday and Friday evenings, weekends and every day during Christmas week. Money goes to meet emergency needs of Routt County families. Appointments available for Thursday blood drive

A community blood drive will be held from 12:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, not Wednesday as reported in Monday's Steamboat Today. Appointments are required, and spaces are available. The blood drive will be the last until February, and residents are encouraged to give to help meet the high demand for blood and blood products during the holiday season. Variety of yoga classes offered at dance studio

Several new classes are being offered at The Center for Movement Arts, 1104 11th St.

An all-levels class is from 6:55 to 8 .m. Tuesdays; intermediate energizing yoga is 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, and an all-level class is 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. Sundays. Call 870-9977.

Ducks Unlimited offering Walden print by auction

Steamboat Springs Ducks Unlimited is offering for silent auction a print by Chris Walden. The print will be on display at Wells Fargo, and bids will be accepted until 3 p.m. Nov. 14. Call 870-0872.

Historic designation

applications available

Applications for local historic designation are available in the Routt County commissioners' office in the Routt County Courthouse Annex. Completed applications are due Nov. 19 and will be reviewed by the Routt County Historic Preservation Board at its quarterly meeting Dec. 10.

Health fair for teens to be held at Lowell Whiteman

A 9News Health Fair for teens in Steamboat Springs is at The Lowell Whiteman School gymnasium Nov. 18. Professionals in fields ranging from psychology to dentistry to massage therapy will be giving 10-minute presentations throughout the day, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the school. Blood screening won't be available at this fair. Call 879-1350.

Volunteers needed to serve on youth focus group

Parks and Recreation youth programs are looking for people to serve in a youth programs focus group. The group will gather viewpoints and ideas to enhance the quality of programs. Participants will meet twice before the end of the school year discussing program content, registration, concerns and so forth. Call Jennifer at 879-4300, Ext. 352.

Ski Ball and Auction

reservations accepted

Reservations are still being accepted for the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club Ski Ball and Auction, which begins at 6 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel. The evening includes hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction, three-course dinner, a live auction and dancing to the live music of Exit 232. Reservations are $125 per person or 10-person tables for $1,500. Reservations must be made by Nov. 12 at 879-0695, Ext. 116. Proceeds from the Ski Ball and Auction benefit the athletes of the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club.
