Mental Health support group suspends meetings
The Mental Health Support and Education Group is suspending its meetings. Anyone interested in any mental health support resources can call Jenny at 870-8898. For information about other support groups available in Steamboat Springs, call the Community Health Resource Center at Yampa Valley Medical Center, 879-1322.
Yampa Valley Recycles
celebrates Recycles Day
Yampa Valley Recycles will celebrate the sixth annual America Recycles Day on Saturday. Through Nov. 17, there will be six satellite recycling sites accepting aluminum and tin cans, glass and plastic bottles, newspapers, magazines and corrugated cardboard. The recycling locations are the Stock Bridge Transit Center, Shop and Hop, the Steamboat Ski Area gondola parking lot, Milner Mini-Storage, the Clark General Store and the Oak Creek Road and Bridge office. During America Recycles week, residents are encouraged to inquire about free recycling service by calling Waste Management at 879-2400. Watch for YVR's mascot Whistle Pig Willy every day in Steamboat Today for bits of recycling wisdom. Call Yampa Valley Recycles' hotline at 870-7575 for any recycling questions.
Howelsen Hill Ski Area passes on sale today
Howelsen Hill Ski Area season passes go on sale today. Passes can be purchased from 3 to 7 p.m. weekdays at the Howelsen Hill concession stand. A representative will visit area schools the week of Nov. 10. Call 879-4300.
Community blood drive
to be held Wednesday
A community blood drive will be held from 12:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Yampa Valley Medical Center. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 870-1495.
Rocky Mountain Rumble hockey tourney upcoming
The second annual Rocky Mountain Rumble hockey tournament is Nov. 14 to 16 at Howelsen Ice Arena. Three local Peewee and Bantam "B" teams will compete with from the Front Range and Wyoming. A schedule is available at Howelsen.
Holy Name Catholic Church holding bazaar
Holy Name Catholic Church's sixth annual Work of Human Hands Holiday Bazaar is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 22 and from 9 to 10 a.m. Nov. 23. Handmade and unique products from low-income communities from 70 countries will be available for purchase in the parish hall basement, 504 Oak St.
Routt County accepting LEAP applications
The Routt County Department of Human Services Low-income Energy Assistance Program will accept applications through April 30. LEAP helps low-income households meet winter home heating costs; it does not pay the entire cost of home heating. The maximum monthly income for a one-person household is $1,384; for four people it is $2,837. For more on LEAP eligibility requirements or other information, call 879-1540.
United Way, Vectra Bank make Thanksgiving dinner
Routt County United Way and Vectra Bank are sponsoring a Community Thanksgiving Dinner open to the public. Currently they are in need of volunteers and prepared food donations for the Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner to be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Nov. 27 at the Steamboat Springs Community Center.

LIFT-UP seeking people for its board of directors
LIFT-UP of Routt County is seeking people interested in being nominated to its board of directors for a three-year at-large term beginning Jan. 1.
