Pickup reportedly stolen in Yampa this week

A truck was reported stolen in Yampa on Wednesday.

Jennifer Padilla said her husband's 1995 white GMC pickup was taken Wednesday afternoon from the 400 block of Main Street in Yampa, Routt County Sheriff John Warner said.

Padilla said the truck was at their home when she went to work that morning. The keys were in the ignition, but she believed no one had her husband's permission to use it.

Padilla said her husband had gone to Denver with a friend and that the friend was driving.

The truck's license plate number is 722FWD. Anyone with information can contact the sheriff's office at 879-1090.

Youths needed for Parks and Rec focus groups

Parks and Recreation youth programs are looking for people to serve in a youth programs focus group. The group will gather viewpoints and ideas to enhance the quality of programs. Participants will meet twice before the end of the school year to discuss program content, registration, concerns and more. Call Jennifer at 879-4300, Ext. 352.

Rotary Club looking for professional to sponsor

The Steamboat Springs Rotary Club is seeking one outstanding young professional, between the ages of 25 and 40, to sponsor for a group study exchange trip to Italy. This will be a cultural and vocational exchange to Rotary District 2050, in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. The four-week trip will depart about May 2.

The Rotary Foundation pays for the air transportation, and the Steamboat Springs Rotary Club will pick up many of the other expenses. Team members will reside with host families while in Italy and will be expected to pay for their own incidentals. They will experience vocational tours and visits with professionals in their lines of business. Cultural events and experiences also are an important part of the exchange. Ample free time will be available, as will personal interaction with host Rotarians and families.

The applicants for this trip will be interviewed and selected Dec. 6 in Laramie, Wyo. Applications must be submitted by Nov. 10.

Children's Danceworks classes have openings

Space is available for 3-, 4- and 5-year-olds in the fall session of Children's Danceworks creative dance classes. Classes are held at Northwest Ballet Studio, 326 Oak St. Call 736-1005.
