Steamboat Cleaners,

LIFT-UP to distribute coats

LIFT-UP and Steamboat Cleaners will distribute winter coats from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 to 6 p.m. at the former Rock, Rattle and Stroll building in the Elk River Crossing shopping center west of Steamboat Springs.

The free distribution will be held daily through Friday. On Saturday, coats will be distributed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 870-0727.

Party for Rob Straebel

is Friday at Town Hall

A reception for departing Hayden Town Manager Rob Straebel will be held Friday.

Straebel has accepted a position as the administrator for the village of Taos Ski Valley, N.M. The reception is from 2 to 5 p.m. at Hayden Town Hall.

Rocky Mountain Rumble hockey starts Nov. 14

The second annual Rocky Mountain Rumble hockey tournament is Nov. 14 through 16 at Howelsen Ice Arena. Three Peewee and Bantam "B" teams will compete with teams from the Front Range and Wyoming. A schedule is available at Howelsen.

Arts council presents free Friday Film series at 7 p.m.

The Steamboat Springs Arts Council presents the free Friday Film series at 7 p.m. at Centennial Hall. This week's film is "The Navigator," a 1988 New Zealand movie directed by Vincent Ward. Admission is free but seating is limited. Call 879-9008.

Don't forget to bring

identification to vote

Voters are reminded to bring identification to the polls today. New federal law requires that voters present identification before being allowed to vote. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Catholic Church's holiday bazaar starts Nov. 22

Holy Name Catholic Church's sixth annual Work of Human Hands Holiday Bazaar is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 22 and from 9 to 10 a.m. Nov. 23. Handmade and unique products from low income communities from 70 countries around the world will be available for purchase in the Parish Hall Basement, 504 Oak St.

County begins accepting LEAP applications

The Routt County Department of Human Services Low-income Energy Assistance Program has begun accepting applications and will continue through April 30. LEAP helps low-income households meet winter home heating costs; it does not pay the entire cost of home heating.

The maximum monthly income for a one-person household is $1,384; for four people it is $2,837. For more on LEAP eligibility requirements or other information, call 879-1540.

'Sound of Music' family

to perform in Steamboat

The von Trapp children, third generation descendants of the family featured in "The Sound of Music," will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Steamboat Springs High School auditorium. Tickets are $25 for reserved seating, $15 for general admission and $8 for youth and are available at All That Jazz and through Strings at 879-5056, Ext. 104.
