Voters must bring IDs
to polls Tuesday
Voters are reminded to bring identification to the polls Tuesday. New federal law requires that voters present identification before being allowed to vote. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
American Association of University Women meets
The American Association of University Women is holding its November meeting at noon Friday at the Scott Center, 550 Rollingstone Road.
Members and prospective members are welcome. Lunch will be served, and tree ornaments will be created. For information, call Lynn Abbott at 870-6673.
Routt County Republicans hosts meeting Wednesday
The Routt County Republicans will hold a monthly meeting at noon Wednesday in the Commissioners Meeting Room of the Routt County Courthouse. Call 870-2891.
Parents can enjoy a night out, help school club
Parents Night Out, sponsored by the Steamboat Springs High School EPYCS Philanthropy Club, is from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday at Steamboat Springs High School. For $10 per child, high school students will watch children in kindergarten through eighth grade while parents go out for the evening. Movies, pizza and lemonade will be provided.
Elementary schools host book fairs this week
Strawberry Park Elementary School's book fair runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Friday in the school library. Books for preschool through adult readers are available. Call 871-3490.
Soda Creek Elementary will host a book fair Monday through Saturday in its school library. Call 871-3390.
Health fair returns to town with many presentations
The annual 9News Health Fair, sponsored by 9News and the Lowell Whiteman School, will return to Steamboat Springs Nov. 18. Professionals in fields ranging from psychology to dentistry to massage therapy will be giving 10-minute presentations throughout the day, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the school. Call 879-1350.
Three local teams
compete in hockey contest
The second annual Rocky Mountain Rumble hockey tournament is Nov. 14-16 at Howelsen Ice Arena. Three local Peewee and Bantam "B" teams will compete with teams from the Front Range and Wyoming. A schedule is available at Howelsen.
Church hosts sixth annual holiday bazaar
Holy Name Catholic Church's sixth annual Work of Human Hands Holiday Bazaar is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 22 and from 9 to 10 a.m. Nov. 23. Handmade and unique products from low-income communities from 70 countries around the world will be available for purchase in the Parish Hall Basement, 504 Oak St.
