Nancy Spillane: Whiteman thanks

We would like to publicly thank the many people who attended our recent ABC Fund Raiser at Olympian Hall.

We had our most successful fund-raiser ever to assist those families who would like to send their children to Lowell Whiteman Primary. This year, 41 percent of our enrolled students receive scholarships; we are very pleased that we will be able to continue this generous element of our program.

Whiteman Primary was founded in 1993, and our recent fund-raiser was a celebration of our 10th anniversary. We could not be more pleased to mark this celebration with the support we have felt from the Steamboat Springs community to assist children and their families who seek an educational alternative.

We would like to thank all the community donors who helped make the selection of silent auction items a stellar event. It is part of our mission to encourage children to acquire a more thoughtful and generous vision of his or her role as a responsible citizen.

We are grateful that our community has given that support. Steamboat citizens give back again and again. What wonderful role models you are for our children. Thank you.
