Buyers can land new H2 Hummers

Next five to purchase lot in Grassy Creek Ranch get hard core vehicle

The next five individuals to buy lots in the Grassy Creek Ranch at Mount Harris will get an H2 Hummer with their land.

Roger Johnson, manager of Grassy Creek Ranch, said the Hummers are being included in the price of the land for the first five buyers to close their purchases beginning this holiday weekend. Johnson said giving away the vehicles is a creative way to market the property.

"There has to be an element of fun or it doesn't work," Johnson said. "We want to make buying and owning resort property a fun experience."

Johnson said he is working to make Mount Harris feel like a vacation spot.

The ranch is 25 minutes west of downtown Steamboat Springs on U.S. Highway 40. It is 15 minutes from the Yampa Valley Regional Airport. The land features more than 20 miles of trails, access to the Yampa River and equestrian facilities.

Landowners in Grassy Creek will also have access to a luxury guest home near the Sheraton Steamboat Resort Golf Course.

Custom builder and architectural services are also available.

Johnson said there are 32 land lots remaining. The sites range in size from 35 acres to 57 acres. The land lots are priced between $239,875 and $350,950.

The Hummer will only be included for the first five buyers to close, and no additional price will be tacked onto their bills. The H2 Hummer retails for around $60,000.

Some restrictions do apply to the deal. One requires that the buyers do not sell the land within one year of buying it.

Johnson hopes the promotion will help to sell property quickly, since his selling season was cut short due to excess moisture in the area.

Work cutting roads and putting in utilities is being done now in Grassy Creek Ranch. Construction has had to take place around the nesting cycles of eagles in the area.

Those interested in seeing the property should contact Johnson at 871-8885.
