Library hosts book fair
The Hayden Library is having its Scholastic Book Fair from Feb. 25 to March 11. There are books available to purchase for all ages. Proceeds from the book fair go toward the purchase of new books for the junior collection.
Snowboard Club finishes year
The Hayden Ski and Snowboard Club just finished its second year of activity by completing the Steamboat Ski and Resort Trailbusters Program Saturday. Participants, including Hunter Johnston, Morgan Bell, Maddison Kopsa, Ian Cadenhead, Jeremy Engle, Zach Engle, Parker Hagins, Aubree Haskins, Adam LeFevre, Grant Mader, Garrett Murchison, Clay Schafer, Billy Zehner and Dakota Zehner celebrated by skiing and boarding together at the end of the day.
The program began on Jan. 18 and included five all-day ski or snowboarding lessons.
Hayden Recreation Board member and club coordinator Tracey Rogalski wishes to thank everyone who helped with the program and looks forward to implementing the program next year.
Day of Prayer
The Women's Fellowship is sponsoring the World Day of Prayer at 1:30 p.m. March 6 at the Hayden Congregational Church. The service will be written by Christian women of Lebanon. Everybody is welcome to attend.
Potato Bar will be held
It's time again for the delicious Potato Bar that the Eastern Star ladies put on. The Potato Bar will be held from 11:30 to 1:30 March 5 at the fairgrounds exhibit hall. Cost is $6.50. If you would like a potato delivered to your place of work or home, call Liz Davis at 276-3210 to get more information or an order sheet to place your order.
Congratulations to wrestlers
Congratulations to all the wrestlers that went to Denver for the State Wrestling tournament.
Seventh-grade girls win
The seventh-grade girls basketball had their tournament in West Grand. They won both of their games and did an outstanding job. The eighth-grade girls basketball had their tournament in Soroco. They lost both of their games but played hard during both games.
CattleWomen hold gathering
The Routt County CattleWomen will be holding their annual Winter Gathering at the Hilltop Bar and Grill in Steamboat. Everybody is invited to come and dance the night away, socialize with old friends and make some new ones. Door prizes, a silent auction and appetizers are on the agenda.
Girl Scout cookies available
There are still Girl Scout cookies available. Call Lori Laird at 276-3536 during the evening to place an order.
Thanks to volunteers
The Hayden Recreation Department would like to thank everyone who helped with the third- and fourth-grade basketball program, especially Brian Incitti, Mike Williams, Angela Letlow, Rick Hines and Michael Brazelton for their great coaching.
