Steamboat Springs Running Series

May 3 -- 18th Annual Spirit Challenge. A 5k run/walk and 10k run. 5k run/walk is a scenic, rolling on and off road loop. 10k is out uphill and back downhill through Strawberry Park. Call (970) 871-9602

May 18 -- 25th Annual Hayden Cog Run. 8.2-mile, 10k, 3-mile Fun run/walk. 8.2-mile is an out uphill, back downhill paved road run with a 750-foot elevation gain. 10k is rolling hills, mostly paved. 3-mile is flat. Call (970) 276-3741

May 24 -- Hot Springs Short Cut Run. 7-mile uphill, rolling point to point mostly paved ending at Strawberry Park Hot Springs. walk, run or mountain bike. Call (970) 879-9853

June 1 -- 22nd Annual Steamboat Marathon. Marathon, Half-Marathon, 10k, 1/2 mile fun run. (970) 879-0880

June 28 -- 12th Annual Spring Creek Memorial. 5k run/walk, 10-mile run, 1k kids run around reservoir. 5k is a trail run. 10-mile is an out uphill, back downhill loop.

July 4 -- 12th Annual Steamboat Sprint. 400-yard sprint on Main Street. Call (970) 879-4300

July 13 -- 25th Annual Mountain Madness Half Marathon, 10k, 2-mile Fun Run. Half Marathon hilly and mostly paved; 10k is an out and back mostly paved course; 2-mile is flat out and back partially paved. Call (970) 879-1250

Aug. 2 -- Ninth annual Mount Werner Classic. 5-mile and 12-mile both from base of ski mountain. 5-mile is single track to Gondola, 12-mile makes loop to top of ski mountain and back to gondola via single track and dirt road.

Aug. 24 -- Continental Divide Trail Run. 16-mile trail run begins at Fish Creek Falls and climbs to the Continental Divide.

Aug. 31 -- 19th Annual 10k at 10,000 feet. 10k run at Rabbit Ears Pass on single track and rustic mountain roads. Call (970) 879-0371

Sept. 1 -- Oak Creek Labor Day Run. 5m run and 2 mile walk. Out and back course for both races entirely on dirt road. Call (970) 846-4122

Sept 13 -- Kremmling Road Kill Trail Half Marathon, 10k, & 5k. Half Marathon is 70 percent dirt and 30 percent pavement. 10k is half trail and half pavement with one major climb. 5k is all pavement through the neighborhoods of Kremmling. Call (970) 724-3472

Sept 21 -- 17th Annual Pilot Run For Literacy. Race relocated to Steamboat Pilot & Today building. 7-mile run, a 5k run and race walk, a 0.4-mile kid's run for children 8 and younger. 7-mile is a hilly loop that is both paved and dirt. 5k is a shorter version of 7-mile course. Kids run is paved and nearly flat.
