ADULT SPORTS PROGRAMS

ADULT SOFTBALL LEAGUE

Men's, Women's and Co-ed teams. Season runs June 2 through August. Games played Monday-Thursday evenings between 6-10 p.m. at Howelsen Park.

ADULT CO-ED SOCCER LEAGUE

Season runs early June through August. Games on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Ski Town Sports Complex and Christian Heritage Fields.

UMPIRES AND REFEREES

The Parks and Recreation Department is looking for qualified people to umpire and referee softball and soccer games this summer. Evening games. A mandatory clinic will be held for all new and returning umpires and referees in late May. To sign up call Christina at 879-4300, Ext. 322.

ADULT FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE

League runs late August through October. Organizational meeting for all team captains and interested players on Aug. 12 at 6 p.m. at the Parks, Open Space and Recreational Services Office. Registration fee and deadline to register will be announced at the meeting.

CO-ED VOLLEYBALL LEAGUES

At the Steamboat Springs Middle School gym. Co-ed leagues will run from late September through early December on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

ADULT OPEN GYM BASKETBALL

For players 16 years and older. Wednesday nights starting Oct. 1. 8-10 p.m. at the High School gym. $3/session or $25 for a 10-pass punch card.

ADULT OPEN GYM VOLLEYBALL

For players 16 years and older. Monday nights starting Sept. 29, 7:30--9:30 p.m. at the Steamboat Springs Middle School gym. $3/session or $30 for a 10-pass punch card.

YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAMS

Girls Fast Pitch Softball League

Camp format for all third through sixth graders; seventh through 12th graders will be assigned a team.

Girls entering third-12th grades. Season runs late-April through mid-July. $45 registration fee (includes T-shirt and hat).

Tee Ball/Coach Pitch

Tee Ball is for kids entering kindergarten-first grade in fall 2003. Coach Pitch is for kids entering second and third grades. Co-ed teams coached by volunteers with inter-league games and no travel.

Season runs July - August with practices once a week and games once a week.

Tee Ball runs Mondays and Wednesdays and Coach Pitch runs Tuesdays and Thursdays. $40 registration fee includes T-shirt and hat. Deadline to register is June 18. Coaches Clinic 6 p.m., June 26 at Parks, Open Space and Recreational Services.

Doak Walker Football Camp

Full contact, tackle football for kids with practices from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Ski Town Park. Program is for students entering fifth and sixth grades in fall of 2003 Begins late August and ends Oct. 16 (Weather permitting). Deadline to register is Aug. 11. Youth

NFL Flag Football Camp

Kids learn the fundamental skills of flag football with practices from 4-5:30 pm at Ski Town Park. Program is for students entering third and fourth grade in fall of 2003. Begins late August and ends Oct. 16 (weather permitting). Deadline to register is Aug. 11.

Punt, Pass And Kick Contest

Football competition for kids ages 8-15 at Ski Town Park. Qualifiers will be eligible for regional and national competitions. Wednesday, Sept. 24

Little League Baseball

Kids play on minor (8-10 years old), major (11- and 12-year-olds) or senior league teams and learn baseball skills in a supervised competitive format. Volunteers needed. Call 879-7495. $60/child includes everything except baseball glove. Season runs late May through early August with games and practices during the week.

Soccer
