Space available in city's Mini Sprouts day program
The city of Steamboat Springs has spaces available in Mini Sprouts, its morning summer preschool camp. Cost is $10 per day. Call 879-4300.
Winter Sports Club
to hold board elections
The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club is holding its Board of Directors elections. Club members can stop by the Winter Sports Club office today to pick up a ballot.
Arts Council expecting big turnout for SummerArt
The Steamboat Springs Arts Council is expecting to receive entries from nearly 100 artists for SummerArt 2003, a juried multimedia fine art exhibit and sale.
The show will include pastel/oil painting, water media, drawing/printmaking, mixed media, photography, and multi-dimensional pieces, with cash prizes awarded for best of show and for each media category. Award winners from prior years also will be invited to submit new work for display at the exhibit in the Small Works Gallery.
The exhibit opens with a public reception and awards presentation from 5-7 p.m. Aug. 1, and a gallery talk with exhibition judge Mimi Moore from 9-10:30 a.m. Aug. 2.
The exhibit continues on display at the Eleanor Bliss Center for the Arts at the Depot through Sept. 14.
Lutheran Church holding Vacation Bible School
Concordia Lutheran Church holds a Vacation Bible School from 9 to 11:30 a.m., Aug. 4-7, for 3-year-olds through fifth-graders. Call 879-0175.
'Art Car' owners asked
to join Stampede
Owners of "art cars," cars that have been painted creatively or otherwise transformed into works of art, are asked to participate in the Art Car Stampede during the Beaux Arts festival Aug. 15 and 16. Participants will be eligible for a $500 People's Choice award. Call 870-6323.
Consigners wanted for pregnancy center benefit
Consigners are sought for a sale benefiting the Yampa Valley Pregnancy Center and Moffat County Young Life. The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Centennial Mall in Craig, and proceeds will be split 50-50 between the consigners and the charities. Call Jennifer Smith at 826-0171.
