'Chair Affair' artists needed for benefit

Artists are needed to creatively paint chairs for the third annual Chair Affair and Auction, presented by the Mixed Media Painting School of Steamboat Springs. The auction will take place Aug. 23, and proceeds will be used to create a fellowship for art education to benefit artists in Routt and Moffat counties. LIFT-UP distributing food to eligible households

U.S. Department of Agriculture commodities are being distributed at LIFT-UP of Routt County offices in Steamboat Springs, Hayden and Oak Creek through The Emergency Food Assistance Program. Eligible households can receive TEFAP foods once per quarter, and the third quarter distribution cycle runs July 1-Sept. 30. Food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Call 870-8804 from 1 to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, for information about income eligibility and hours of operation at each office.

community blood drive

A community blood drive will be held from 12:30 to 6 p.m. July 24 at Yampa Valley Medical Center. Call 879-2081 to set up an appointment.

Ducks Unlimited offering print in silent auction

The Steamboat Springs Chapter of Ducks Unlimited is offering for silent auction the third in a five-print series. The print is available for viewing at Community First Bank; bids will be taken through noon Friday. Call 870-0872.

Division of Wildlife offers hunter education class

The Colorado Division of Wildlife offers a hunter education class from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Aug. 5-9 at Colorado Mountain College for people wishing to hunt big game this fall. The class is open to all ages, but students must be able to read at a third-grade level. Cost is $10; call 870-4444 to register.

Breast cancer group seeks committee members

The Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Project is looking for committee members. The nonprofit group raises funds for uninsured and underinsured women who are fighting breast cancer. Call Debbie Curd at 871-7300.

presents "Cosi" comedy
