Police blotter
Friday, July 4
9:15 a.m. The fireworks stand at 1306 Lincoln Ave. was broken into while it was closed and locked. Hundreds of dollars worth of fireworks reportedly were stolen.
11:51 a.m. A motorist at 11th and Oak streets reportedly threw a water balloon at a community official that was directing traffic.
12:19 p.m. There was a two-car non-injury accident in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive.
5:49 p.m. A woman in the 1200 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported that she had been receiving harassing phone calls from her ex-husband.
6:33 p.m. A purse that a woman reportedly left near the Yampa River was stolen.
6:37 p.m. A bicyclist riding down Howelsen Hill reportedly crashed and required an ambulance.
6:39 p.m. A motorist in a private parking lot on Yampa Avenue accidentally drove over a 4-inch retaining wall, and her vehicle got stuck. Police assisted the woman in getting her minivan off of the ledge.
7:29 p.m. An officer spotted a man he thought had a warrant for his arrest. After police confirmed, the man in the 400 block of Yampa Avenue was arrested on suspicion of being a fugitive of justice.
8:54 p.m. A bicyclist riding near Highway 40 and Walton Creek Road reportedly crashed and possibly dislocated his shoulder. An ambulance responded to the scene.
9:14 p.m. A motorist trying to park along Highway 40 near Old Fish Creek Falls Road reportedly hit another car. No one was injured.
