Successful race

— Thank you to all who made the June 29 Road Criterium a huge success. I think I speak for all when I say we really enjoyed thundering down Lincoln Avenue on a road bike without worrying about traffic and doing something we all like to do -- riding a bicycle!

Special thanks goes to Sore Saddle Cyclery and owner Chris Oppold for getting the permit and riding the pace motorcycle, thanks to Rich Takesuye for his organizational and course-setting skills, thanks to John Morrone for officiating at the start/finish line, thanks also to a familiar face, Kathleen Crislip, who was also there working the start/finish line and was the creator of this event so many years ago. Last, but not least, thank you to all of the volunteers, including members of Routt County Riders, who stood at the many alleyways and parking lots to control traffic and urged us to go faster and faster.

Obviously, without the city of Steamboat Springs, this event would not have been possible at all and I thank you mightily, too.

See you next year!
