The Fourth of July is just around the corner, and the Yampa Valley will be host to an array of events and festivities during the holiday. Following is a preliminary calendar of events in Steamboat Springs, Yampa, Hayden and Oak Creek during the holiday weekend.
Parade down Lincoln Avenue will run
The Fourth of July Parade will be held at 10 a.m. on Lincoln Avenue. Call 879-0880.
Class of 1973 reunion party for SSHS
Steamboat Springs High School's Class of 1973 invites faculty and alumni to a class reunion Friday and Saturday. At 6 p.m. Friday faculty and alumni can meet at the Yacht Club for cocktails. Lunch will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Steamboat Springs Community Center and will cost $15. Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Ore House and will cost $35. Pancake breakfast hosted by Steamboat Lions Club
The Steamboat Springs Lions Club will host a pancake breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. Friday at the Steamboat Springs Community Center. The price is $10 for adults, $5 for children and seniors, with proceeds benefiting the Lions Club scholarship fund. Call 879-5853.
Boulder Brass Ensemble will hold free concert

Tread of Pioneers to host block party after parade
The Tread of Pioneers Museum will host its fourth annual Pioneer Day Block Party on Friday immediately following the Fourth of July parade down Lincoln Avenue. The Boulder Brass Ensemble will play a free concert, sponsored by Strings in the Mountains. The block party also features reduced admission to the museum, free hot dogs, a strawberry festival with the United Methodist Church and the museum's famous Routt (root) beer floats.
Art on the Mountain takes place July Fourth weekend
The second annual Art on the Mountain festival, featuring a wide variety of arts and crafts, food vendors, entertainment and activities for all ages, will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 4-6 in Gondola Square.
Moffat County plans biggest 'fair parade ever'
The Moffat County Fair Board, Moffat County Extension Office and the Craig Downtown Business Association are planning the "biggest Moffat County Fair Parade ever" to take place Aug. 2. The theme will be "85 years of joy and tears." Organizations and businesses are needed to enter floats and to sponsor awards for float categories. Call Karen at 824-7898.
High Country Garden Tour takes place Saturday
The Strings in the Mountains High Country Garden Tour will be Saturday. The Garden Market and lecture will be at 8:30 a.m. The self-guided tour of the gardens will be from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 if they are purchased before the event.
